All material must fit inside the appropriate cart and the lid must close. Place your carts 3 feet apart at the curb or road edge by 5am on your collection day. Collection is weekly.

Garbage in Clearlake

  • Use the gray-lid cart. You can choose a 20, 32, 64 or 96 gallon cart.

  • As required by City of Clearlake ordinance No. 198-2017 residential property owner must subscribe to garbage service. Residential customers are billed quarterly.

  • Lake County residents can also purchase pre-paid garbage bags for use on their collection day. These bags are ideal for vacation homes and people that do not generate enough garbage to require regular weekly service. Bags can be purchased at our office located at 230 Soda Bay Road in Lakeport, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.

Recycling in Clearlake and Lake County

  • Use the blue-lid 96-gallon recycling cart provided to you.
  • All recyclable materials go in same cart.
  • Recyclables include newspaper, household paper, magazines, cardboard, food and beverage glass, metal cans, plastic food and beverage containers.

Green Waste in Clearlake and Lake County

  • Use the green-lid 96-gallon cart provided to you.
  • Mixed organic waste includes lawn clippings, leaves, plant material, branches under 4″ in diameter and small unpainted wood pieces.

Bulky Item Collection

  • Residents can have one (1) bulky item collected twice per year at no charge. Bulky items typically include a piece of furniture or an appliance. Want to know what’s eligible for free bulky item pickup? Learn more about Bulky Item Collection.
  • A charge for freon removal may be applied for refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. Prior arrangements must be made for this service.
  • Collection of additional bulky items (beyond the two free collections) can be arranged for a fee.
